A Legacy Brought to Life

We believe great design doesn’t just fill a space—it tells a story.

We recently had the opportunity to help elevate Snug Harbor at Southern Hills Country Club—a course rich in tradition and home to some of golf’s most prestigious championships. With nearly a century of history, Southern Hills is a place where legacy runs deep.

Our placemaking work blended historical storytelling with fresh, intentional design. From archival photo displays to custom installations, every detail was crafted to honor where the space has been while thoughtfully shaping where it’s headed.

About the Project

The Crest Wall

The Crest Wall A crest isn’t just a logo—it’s the story of a place, told through symbols. And at Southern Hills, that story began in 1936.

For the new Snug Harbor, we honored the club’s iconic crest by breaking it down into its core elements—golf, tennis, polo, horse riding, sport shooting, and swimming—and giving each one a moment to shine. Our team brought the crest to life by pairing archival images with carefully designed facsimiles of historical artifacts.

Each image was direct-printed onto plywood and set in frames custom-stained to match the beautiful millwork throughout the space. We transformed the crest from an abstract symbol into something tangible and deeply connected to the Southern Hills legacy.

The Legacy Gallery

If walls could talk, Snug Harbor’s would have decades of stories to tell.

To honor that legacy, we worked with the Southern Hills team and historian to curate a gallery of archival photos from the 1930s–1950s—images that once lined the original space. Our team restored, reframed, and arranged each piece to create a cohesive display that connects the past to the present.

Now, as members step into the new Snug Harbor, they’ll find familiar faces and scenes—nostalgic snapshots of the past that speak to the club’s legacy.

These memories aren’t just preserved—they’ve found their place once again. Some legacies deserve more than just memory, they deserve a place to belong.

The Course Map

Golfers travel from around the world to experience Southern Hills—a course meticulously designed, expertly maintained, and celebrated as one of the game’s true gems. 

For Snug Harbor, we set out to capture the artistry behind every hole, treating the course exactly as it deserves to be treated: as a true work of art. Our team created a custom 4×7-foot, layered 3D course map—meticulously CNC-cut and direct-printed onto plywood to reveal every contour, sand trap, green, and water feature.

It’s a fresh perspective on familiar grounds—a reminder that Southern Hills is more than just a course; it’s something to appreciate, explore, and admire.
