QT 500 – Folds of Honor

MISSION. EXECUTION. SUCCESS.

If you know anything about Folds of Honor and their mission, you want to get behind this for-purpose organization in any way you can. So when our friends at QuikTrip asked if we would be interested in designing a trophy for FOH and their new co-sponsored NASCAR race (Ummm…YES!) we decided the best way we could stand with Folds of Honor was to donate our design services for this incredible project.

Our directive from Folds Of Honor Founder and CEO Major Dan Rooney was simple, and slightly daunting: To design the most awesome, epic and patriotic trophy. Ever.

The entire design team developed multiple trophy concepts for the FOH leadership team to choose from, but one design (featuring a rather intimidating gun) stood head and shoulders above the rest. We were then able to execute the project from concept to execution and fabrication in a little under 2 months….the rest is NASCAR history.

We’re proud to report the inaugural Folds of Honor QT 500 was a massive win for everyone involved, including Folds of Honor recipients. Not only was the race seen by almost 10 million viewers, it generating much-needed national awareness and financial support for FOH in the process.

“I think this race will quickly take its place as the one stop on NASCAR that has a true purpose and meaning that is much bigger than all of us,” Rooney said. “This is the platform that the good Lord has given us.” “This is not just a trophy. The symbolism this trophy represents is powerful. It represents God, Country and those willing to defend our freedoms. We want people to know this is not just a race and this is not just a trophy. It is so much bigger. It (is) the coolest and most patriotic trophy in NASCAR.”

Executive Suite Design

And just when we thought things couldn’t get any dreamier, we were given the incredible opportunity to help re-design the FOH QT 500 race suite at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. From sourcing finishes and creating custom furniture, to specifying reclaimed wood accent walls, there wasn’t surface in this 1,200 sq ft. space that didn’t help tell the FOH story. In fact, the folks at AMS love showing off the FOH QT suite to people, it’s now become a tourist attraction. Ka-chow!
