They say art imitates life, and we’d concur.
When we began brainstorming concepts for the 2019 Crisis Pregnancy Outreach Gala, we were inspired by incredible butterfly art installations. And then the “aha” moment struck. The ongoing process of growth – from caterpillar to cocoon, and from chrysalis to butterfly — is a perfect representation of the process women and children experience through CPO. The significance of the chrysalis stage is that it’s the final stage of development before the butterfly emerges from its protecting covering. CPO provides that same nurturing environment for women and children, guiding them into their next phase of life. It’s often an imperfect and messy process, but Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
We told the story during the Gala by covering the Mayo Hotel ballroom with hundreds of folded paper butterflies, representing the hundreds of people and families CPO has touched in significant, life-changing ways. We also created life-sized shadowboxes featuring multi-dimensional, organic layers within the box to represent the many layers in this protective covering of the chrysalis.

Readily determined to guide and support throughout their pregnancy, CPO has helped thousands of women and their babies in this pivotal transition. The outreach work provides an opportunity to find wholeness in a secure environment and the ability to plan for a brighter future.
This is Work That Matters. We are incredibly grateful and proud to support CPO’s mission.
