We like “quick wins” where momentum fuels motivation. According to one of our favorite books, “Rework” by Jason Fried & David Hansson, the way to build momentum is by getting something done and then moving on to the next thing. Working on the same thing for a long period of time with nothing to show for it is a major morale killer.
When designing for your own company it is so easy to get caught in the “get it perfect before launching” game. When is something you do for yourself ever perfect? Every employee has a stake in the game, and everyone has a different view on how your site should look and function. This recipe is the most difficult to cook and one of the bigger morale killers in an agency. Websites are meant to be ever evolving, living things. This isn’t the age of static websites any longer.
The Hampton Creative website reflects who we are as an agency today and is intended to evolve over time. As our agency continues to grow, our website will grow and evolve with us. Is our site perfect now? In our eyes it will never be perfect. As a matter of fact, we have already started the development of the evolution of this site design just one week after the launch.
So LAUNCH IT, then rework it. Keep an eye on our website because we are not done yet. We are just building momentum!
