Design. It is a word that is thrown around a lot these days. Everyone seems to be in pursuit of it, but if you ask anyone in the design industry, you most likely will never get the same answer. This of course is because we are all biased when it comes to what we think good design is.
I approach design in a couple different ways. One of the most important parts in good design is practicality. Is it something done for pure aesthetic reasons, or is there something deeper, something more? Another design element that is under noticed is consistency throughout different areas. At Hampton Creative, we believe in the integration of both of these ideas, and we have the perfect place to showcase our take on it.
Ok, I’ll admit our office is pretty darn cool, like “Wow! I work here and everything is my style” cool. But my creative mind has been going off lately begging me to examine the possibility of expansion. It hit me one day like a blunt brick to the stomach. Open creative space. No, not that useless high ceiling, maximum lighting, “design” space, quite the contrary. I want space that is so creative that it encourages stellar design.
A once foggy image is now being made clear. By October, Hampton Creative will have a brand new addition to the office. One-third think-tank, one-third media idea room, and one-third coolness, the new addition will be a place for creativity to flourish.
We have all collaborated together in picking out paints (think chalk wall and dry erase walls) modern chairs (hello Herman Miller!) bold graphics and a subtle modernness. You have my word it is going to be awesome. Personally, I am looking forward to the textures, and feeling coming together, but alas, that is my designer coming through. It will be a 100% practical addition that will be 100% Hampton Creative. It’s just another way that will keep us moving in a forward direction and staying on the edge of creativity
