Diving Into SeaWorld San Antonio. (Yep, We Totally Messed With Texas).

Diving Into SeaWorld San Antonio. (Yep, We Totally Messed With Texas).

For the past 6 months, we’ve been living underwater. Figuratively speaking, sure, but when you have the privilege to work with SeaWorld, you just want to dive deep in support of their mission: To protect and preserve the wild wonders of our world.

So how does a small, land-locked marketing agency come to work with SeaWorld, you might ask?  Honestly, the answer to that FAQ is that the seeds of the work we’re doing today were planted 4 years ago during our initial visit to SeaWorld Orlando in 2015.

As we walked through the steamy park in business casual clothes (trying not to sweat and completely failing), we internally discussed the multitude of ways we could refresh the parks’ graphics and signage in order to change perceptions and elevate guest experiences. “What if?” was our mantra for the week. But, there were more pressing issues to deal with at the time, so our environmental design dreams went to the back-burner.

Then, in 2016, we had another incredible opportunity to step up and help name — and brand — SeaWorld’s in-house creative development team, Deep Blue Creative.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve been charged by SeaWorld to help re-imagine and re-design environmental graphics for several key attractions at all of their parks, starting with San Antonio, which just opened last week.

To date, we’ve designed structures, rebranded key areas of the park, updated building facades, and consulted on all elements that visually affect the park and brand…and we’re just getting warmed up.

By reimagining and designing fresh environmental graphics and adding a revitalized color palette, we were able to provide a sense of energy in each space that reflected the teeming life below sea level. And at the same time, we wanted to visually communicate — and celebrate — SeaWorld’s unique story.

The opportunity to positively impact and elevate guests expectations from the moment they drive through the ticket gate and transport them into an extraordinary “sea world”  is incredibly special. And we’re loving every single minute of it.
